On March 3, 2002 this beautiful Temple was dedicated by LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley.

It's the 108th operating Temple, 51st in the continental United States and 2nd in Arizona.

The temple serves nearly 35,000 Latter-Day Saints living in northeast Arizona and a small portion of western New Mexico.

Snowflake's Temple is the only one in the world which is surrounded by a golf course.

 

 

Snowflake Arizona Temple facts:

Snowflake's Temple serves members of the Church in the following stakes: Chinle, Eagar, Flagstaff, Holbrook, Pinetop-Lakeside, Show Low, Snowflake, St. Johns, Taylor, Tuba City and Winslow Arizona.

The Snowflake Arizona Temple is located 1/2 mile south of Highway 277 and 1 mile west of the center of town. Its address is 1875 W. Canyon Dr. and the phone number is: (928) 536-6626.

The exterior features two tons of finished royal rose granite quarried in China.

The total floor area is 18,621 square feet.

There are two ordinance rooms and two sealing rooms.

The Temple is topped by a gold statue of the angel Moroni — an ancient American prophet from Latter-day Saint scripture.

The Temple sits on a 7.5 acre site overlooking Snowflake's 27-hole municipal golf course. The only Temple in the world which is adjacent to a golf course.

- A water feature outside the entrance, cascading over a natural-rock ledge into a pool
- Antique art-glass panel depicting Jesus Christ with children
